General Information
The Chrysalis Cooperative, home of the BHC’s first solar project, is a consensus-based mostly vegetarian co-op in a large old house with lots of character. Chrysalis is located in downtown Boulder, one block from Pearl Street. Chrysalians live lightly, buy food together, and share dinners, chores, and good times. Chrysalis values affordable living, environmental sustainability, conscious community, and human diversity.
Food
Chrysalis co-op buys mostly organic and as much local food as possible. Chrysalis serves dinner four to five nights per week and all house meals are vegetarian. While not all Chrysalians are vegetarian, meat is not allowed is community meals (but is allowed in the house).
Community Lifestyle
While House members are free to be their own spirit and use their time as they wish, building community through meals and House events is a big aspect of living at Chrysalis. The support and cooperation derived from fellow House members is an incredible benefit of the Chrysalis lifestyle.
