Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Boulder ClimateSmart Grant Program, the BHC was able to install photovoltaic panels at the Masala cooperative in 2010.

The Boulder Housing Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Housing Development Organization dedicated to creating affordable, community-enhancing, cooperative housing for the people of Boulder county. We currently own two permanently affordable rental cooperatives that are located in central Boulder and are home to 24 residents.

Together these houses make up the first affordable cooperative housing system in Colorado. We are working to create a federation of housing cooperatives that will provide both affordable rental and home ownership opportunities.
