Development Models

There are several possible models for cooperative housing.

The BHC currently includes two affordable rental cooperatives, Chrysalis and Masala, and is in the process of developing a limited equity cooperative.

Other cooperative models in include co-housing systems, such as the local Thistle Community Housing and Wild Sage Cohousing.

“The purpose of the coops is to encourage community living and to give support to ideals that need to be proliferated in the county”
- Lili Justman, Masala

Openings
Several of our current members are moving on one to biology graduate school in the UK, another to a journalism internship in NYC, and a third is returning home to Nevada to be with her family. As a result, we have vacancies for April 1st and June 1st of 2012. Additionally, our leases usually turn over at the beginning of August, and we begin our search for new members each year in the middle of the summer. If you're interested in any of these vacancies, please contact us, and come on over for dinner or brunch to meet the house!
